Carrigan Farms goes all out for fall. You’ll take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, pick your pumpkin right off the vine, and can stick around for fresh apple cider and donuts afterward. Its $5 per person to make a reservation online and $10 cash in person. Food and drinks are available for purchase, all sales are cash only.

Just under an hour from Charlotte, Patterson Farm is worth the drive. It’s more of a full-day experience — think pumpkin picking, a corn maze, wagon rides, and farm animals.
